چکیده
It is well-known that the ultra-peripheral territories as Islands present several limitations such lack of resources, restricted land, mass tourism, and barriers to movement, connectivity between urban centers. These obstacles make regions suitable case studies considering their territorial governance consequently, sustainable development growth. Thus, transportation infrastructure sustainability in these are not an exception. Considering all regions, accessibility patterns local population has should be assessed monitored. Thereby, through exploratory tools, research assumes examine, using indicators, consequences across social-economic dimension regional convey Azores Archipelago populations. Therefore, this article allows us set situation regarding region’s patterns, creating additional tool for supporting main actors’ design implementation territories’ future plans strategies. Besides, study enables recognize Pico, Flores, São Miguel ones with better within Archipelago.

Landslides density map of S. Miguel Island, Azores archipelago
The Azores archipelago is located in the Atlantic Ocean and is composed of nine volcanic islands. S. Miguel, the largest one, is formed by three active, E-W trending, trachytic central volcanoes with caldera (Sete Cidades, Fogo and Furnas). Chains of basaltic cinder cones link those major volcanic structures. An inactive trachytic central volcano (Povoação) and an old basaltic volcanic complex ...
متن کاملCryptotermes brevis (Isoptera: Kalotermitidae) in the Azores: Lessons After 2 yr of Monitoring in the Archipelago
The dispersal flights of West Indian drywood termite, Cryptotermes brevis (Walker) (Isoptera: Kalotermitidae) were surveyed in the major cities of Azores. The sampling device used to estimate termite density consisted of a yellow adhesive trap (size 45 by 24 cm), placed with an artificial or natural light source in a dark attic environment. In addition, data from two other projects were used to...
متن کاملParticipatory Classification in a System for Assessing Multimodal Transportation Patterns
There has been an increasing trend of performing inference on data collected by smartphones to provide context-aware location-based services. When this inference is performed using supervised analysis, these services need ground truth if high accuracies are desired. While accuracy is less of a concern for services targeted at individuals, it is important when individual data is aggregated for s...
متن کاملArthropod community structure in pastures of an island archipelago (Azores): looking for local-regional species richness patterns at fine-scales.
The arthropod species richness of pastures in three Azorean islands was used to examine the relationship between local and regional species richness over two years. Two groups of arthropods, spiders and sucking insects, representing two functionally different but common groups of pasture invertebrates were investigated. The local-regional species richness relationship was assessed over relative...
متن کاملNitrates in Groundwater Discharges from the Azores Archipelago: Occurrence and Fluxes to Coastal Waters
Groundwater discharge is an important vector of chemical fluxes to the ocean environment, and as the concentration of nutrients is often higher in discharging groundwater, the deterioration of water quality in the receiving environment can be the result. The main objective of the present paper is to estimate the total NO3 flux to coastal water bodies due to groundwater discharge in the volcanic...
